PREPARE/ENRICH: Premarital Coaching at Del Ray Psych & Wellness

Build a Strong Foundation for Your Life Together

At Del Ray Psych & Wellness, our premarital coaching program uses the PREPARE/ENRICH model — a gold-standard, research-based tool that helps couples prepare intentionally for marriage. PREPARE/ENRICH gives you both clarity, insight, and practical skills so that your partnership starts strong — not just on your wedding day, but for the years ahead.

What Is the PREPARE/ENRICH Program?

1.) Personalized Online Assessment

You and your partner each take a confidential, tailored online inventory. The questions are customized to your relationship stage (dating, engaged, or newlywed), and they cover a wide range of topics: communication, conflict, finances, intimacy, roles, parenting, spirituality, and more.

2.) Detailed Facilitator Report

Based on your responses, you’ll receive a comprehensive Facilitator Report that highlights your strengths, growth areas, and alignment — and will guide our conversations.

3.) Tailored Feedback & Skill Building

In weekly sessions, your clinician will walk you through the report, help you unpack findings, and give you exercises from the Prepare/Enrich couples workbook. These activities are designed to strengthen your relationship skills: communication, conflict resolution (including Prepare/Enrich’s 10-step conflict model), goal-setting, stress management, and more.

4.) Actionable Growth

Rather than just revealing insights, this program empowers you to change: you’ll learn practical tools to deepen connection, negotiate differences, and develop a shared vision for your life together.

Why Choose PREPARE/ENRICH with Us?

  • Evidence-Based: The PREPARE/ENRICH system is grounded in decades of research on couple dynamics.

  • Comprehensive & Custom: The assessment customizes itself to your situation — whether you’re dating, engaged, or blending families.

  • Strengths-Based: It’s not just about solving problems — you’ll also identify and build on what’s already going well.

  • Skill Development: You’ll get tools for communication, conflict resolution, financial planning, understanding personality differences, and aligning on personal and couple goals.

  • Proven Impact: Studies show that this program can significantly improve relationship satisfaction — for example, in one eight-week version using trained facilitators, couples showed major gains in relationship health.

  • Flexible & Inclusive: Whether you're faith-based, secular, remarrying, or planning a blended family, PREPARE/ENRICH offers versions to match your context.
