Grief Support Group: Navigating Life After Loss

  • Del Ray Psych & Wellness 1900 Mount Vernon Avenue Alexandria, VA, 22301 United States (map)

A 6-Week Experiential Group with Sarah Pitkin, LPC, LSATP, ATR-BC

Grief doesn't follow a timeline, and there is no single "right" way to navigate the loss of someone important to you.

This six-week group is designed for adults who are in a season of mourning following the death of someone they love. Whether your loss is recent or you have been carrying your grief for some time, this group offers a supportive space to connect with others who understand the complexity of grieving.

Led by Sarah Pitkin, LPC, LSATP, ATR-BC, the group combines psychoeducation, expressive art, experiential activities, and supportive discussion. Each week will offer opportunities to better understand the grieving process, explore and express emotions, develop meaningful ways of coping, and connect with others navigating their own experiences of loss.

There will be space to learn, reflect, create, talk, listen, and simply be. Participants are never required to share more than feels comfortable. This group may be appropriate for individuals at many different stages of the grief journey. No art experience is necessary.

Grief can feel deeply personal and, at times, isolating. This group offers an opportunity to move through it alongside others—to learn together, cry together, find moments of connection, and begin figuring out what it means to carry both your loss and your life forward.
